About BlockSavvy.com
BlockSavvy.com is an online service that allows our residents to set up unique
personal profiles that can be linked together through networks of neighbors.
BlockSavvy residents can view each others' profiles, communicate with old
neighbors and meet new neighbors on the service, share photos, post journals
and comments, and describe their interests. To enrich our residents'
experience, we request and display some personal information to other residents
and visitors, which allows our users to identify each other and expand their
network of neighbors. BlockSavvy residents can change their profile information
at any time and can control how other residents and the service communicates
with them.

Information Collection and Use by BlockSavvy.com
BlockSavvy.com collects user submitted information such as name, email address,
and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating
to the BlockSavvy.com service. BlockSavvy collects personal information when
you register with BlockSavvy, when you use BlockSavvy products or services,
when you visit BlockSavvy pages or the pages of certain BlockSavvy partners,
and when you enter promotions or sweepstakes. BlockSavvy may combine
information about you that we have with information we obtain from business
partners or other companies. BlockSavvy.com also collects other profile data
including but not limited to: personal interests, gender, age, education and
occupation in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each
other. Once you register with
BlockSavvy and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.
BlockSavvy
collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our
business partners, including information about your use of financial products
and services that we offer.
BlockSavvy automatically receives and records information on our server logs
from your browser, including your IP address, BlockSavvy cookie information,
and the page you request. User IP
addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.
BlockSavvy.com also logs non-personally-identifiable information including
profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and
visitors to the site BlockSavvy uses information for the following general
purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests
for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research,
and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients. This
non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to
provide more relevant services and advertisements to residents.
User Profile information including residents' pictures and
first names are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction in
the BlockSavvy.com social networking community. Email addresses are used for
the purposes of inviting new neighbors to join BlockSavvy, to add users to
residents' neighbors' networks, and to send notifications related to the
service. With the exception of inviting neighbors, adding neighbors, and
notifications, a user's email address is not shared or displayed to people
within a user's personal network Users within a personal network communicate on
BlockSavvy.com with each other through the BlockSavvy.com service, without
disclosing their email addresses. Users' full names are never directly revealed
to other residents without prior approval. To facilitate searching and finding
neighbors and acquaintances on the service, BlockSavvy.com allows users to
search for other residents using first and last name, email address, and
schools and/or companies where users may have attended or worked.
We may also use a user's email address to send updates, a newsletter or news
regarding the service. Users may choose not to receive email of this type by
changing their "notification"
setting to "Do not send me
notification emails" in the user
"Account Settings"
From time to time, BlockSavvy.com or a partner, may sponsor a promotion,
sweepstake or contest on BlockSavvy.com. Users may be asked to provide personal
information including name, email address or home address or to answer
questions in order to participate. We may transfer personal information to
certain ad partners that you have explicitly requested to receive information
from. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the
personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.
Children
When a child under age 13 attempts to register with
BlockSavvy, we ask that he or she have a parent or guardian create a BlockSavvy
Family Account to obtain parental permission.
BlockSavvy
will not contact children under age 13 about special offers or for marketing
purposes without a parent's permission.
BlockSavvy
does not ask a child under age 13 for more personal information, as a condition
of participation, than is reasonably necessary to participate in a given
activity or promotion.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
BlockSavvy
does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people
or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've
requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
- We provide the information to
trusted partners who work on behalf of or with BlockSavvy under
confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal
information to help BlockSavvy communicate with you about offers from
BlockSavvy and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not
have any independent right to share this information.
- We have a parent's permission
to share the information if the user is a child under age 13. Parents have
the option of allowing BlockSavvy to collect and use their child's
information without consenting to BlockSavvy sharing of this information
with people and companies who may use this information for their own
purposes;
- We respond to subpoenas,
court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal
rights or defend against legal claims;
- We believe it is necessary to
share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action
regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving
potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of
BlockSavvy's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
- We transfer information about
you if BlockSavvy is acquired by or merged with another company. In this
event, BlockSavvy will notify you before information about you is
transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
BlockSavvy
displays targeted advertisements based on personal information. Advertisers
(including ad serving companies) may assume that people who interact with,
view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting criteria - for example, women
ages 18-24 from a particular geographic area.
- BlockSavvy does not provide
any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view
a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are
consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption
that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.
- BlockSavvy advertisers include
financial service providers (such as banks, insurance agents, stock
brokers and mortgage lenders) and non-financial companies (such as stores,
airlines, and software companies).
BlockSavvy
works with vendors, partners, advertisers, and other service providers in
different industries and categories of business. For more information regarding
providers of products or services that you've requested please read our
detailed reference links.
Invitations and Other Communications to
Non-residents
BlockSavvy residents can invite neighbors to join the service by sending
invitation emails via our automated invitation system. BlockSavvy.com stores
the email addresses that residents provide so that the respondents may be added
to the friend's list of the resident sending the invitations, and also to send
reminders of the invitations. BlockSavvy.com does not sell these email
addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations,
invitation reminders (up to three (3) per email address), other BlockSavvy.com
communications previously indicated in this Privacy Policy. Recipients of
invitations from BlockSavvy.com may contact BlockSavvy.com to request the
removal of their information from our database.
BlockSavvy residents may also store email addresses of people they know in
their internal BlockSavvy address book and may also choose to send invitations
and other communications to those addresses.
You may prevent BlockSavvy.com email invitations and other messages from being
sent to any email address you control by sending a single email with the
subject "BLOCK" to privacy@BlockSavvy.com. Please note that the email must come from
the account you wish to block.
Use of Cookies
BlockSavvy.com uses cookies to store visitors' preferences and to record
session information, for purposes including ensuring that visitors are not
repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize newsletter,
advertising, and Web page content based on browser type and user profile
information. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any
personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. You may be
able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or
notify you when a cookie is set -- each browser is different, so check the
"Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie
preferences -- however, you must enable cookies from BlockSavvy.com in order to
use most functions on the site. Please note that BlockSavvy allows 3rd party
advertisers that are presenting advertisements on some of our pages to set and
access their cookies on your computer. Advertisers' use of cookies is subject
to their own privacy policies, not the BlockSavvy Privacy Policy.
Links
BlockSavvy.com contains links to sites. BlockSavvy.com is not responsible for
the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another
site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy
policy only governs information collected on BlockSavvy.com.
Chat Rooms, Journals and WebLogs, Message Boards, Classifieds and
Public Forums
Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to
Journals, WebLogs (Blogs), Message Boards, Classifieds or any other Public
Forums that that information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be
used by those people to send you unsolicited communications.
Correcting/Updating or Removing Information
BlockSavvy.com users may modify or remove any of their personal information at
any time by logging into their account and accessing features such as Edit Profile and Account Info.
Email Choice/Opt-out
Residents who no longer wish to receive updates or notifications may choose not
to by selecting 'Do not send me
notification emails' in the user
profile 'Account Settings'. Users who do not wish to receive BlockSavvy.com
newsletters may choose not to by selecting 'Do
not send me BlockSavvy newsletters' in the user profile 'Account Settings'. All notification emails and
BlockSavvy.com newsletters also include the above instructions for opting-out
of those communications in the future.
Editing and Deleting Your Account Information and
Preferences
General
You can edit your BlockSavvy Account Information, including your marketing
preferences, at any time.
New categories of marketing communications may be added to the Marketing
Preferences page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of
receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or they can
unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.
We
reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the BlockSavvy
service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the
BlockSavvy Newsletter, that are considered part of your BlockSavvy account,
without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
You
can delete your BlockSavvy account by visiting our Account Deletion page.
Please click here to read about information that might possibly remain in our
archived records after your account has been deleted.
Children
Parents
can review, edit, and delete information relating to their child's BlockSavvy
account using tools offered by BlockSavvy Family Accounts.
If
a parent chooses not to allow us to further collect or use a child's
information, parents enrolled in BlockSavvy Family Accounts can delete their
child's account by signing into that child's account and then visiting our Account
Deletion page. Please click here to read about information that might possibly
remain in our archived records after your account has been deleted.
Third Party Advertising
Ads appearing on this Web site may be delivered to users by BlockSavvy.com or
one of our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may set
cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time
they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile
information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their
advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows
an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of
most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by
BlockSavvy.com and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
Security
BlockSavvy.com resident accounts are secured by resident-created passwords
BlockSavvy.com takes precautions to insure that resident account information is
kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect resident information that
is stored within our database, and we restrict access to resident information
to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our
customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot
guarantee the security of resident account information. Unauthorized entry or
use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the
security of resident information at any time.
We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with
federal regulations to protect personal information about you. For any additional information about the
security measures we use on BlockSavvy.com, please contact us a privacy@BlockSavvy.com.
Sharing and Disclosure of Information BlockSavvy.com Collects
Except as otherwise described in this privacy statement, BlockSavvy will not
disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe that
disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to
a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by BlockSavvy.com,
whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (2) to enforce the
BlockSavvy.com Terms of Use Agreement or to protect our rights; or (3) to
protect the safety of residents of the public and users of the service.
BlockSavvy reserves the right to transfer personal information to a successor
in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of
BlockSavvy or substantially all of its assets to that successor in interest For

below.
Changes in Our Privacy Policy
From time to time we may make changes to our privacy policy If we make changes,
we will post them on our site to make users aware of what the changes are so
users will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and
when we may disclose it. A User is bound by any minor changes to the policy
when she or he uses the site after those changes have been posted If, however,
we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner
materially different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify
by posting a notice on our Web site for 30 days.
